WELCOME
Welcome to my website. I am a HCPC registered Podiatrist/Chiropodist with a Home visting service covering Peterborough and the surrounding area. I have been doing home visits and covering the Peterborough area for over 10 years now.
I graduated from Salford University in 2005 with a degree in Podiatry and following this I working in the Hong kong Hospital Authority as a Podiatrist managing many varied and high risk patients. After this I worked as a locum which gave me a varied experience in many NHS and some private clinics. I worked as a Podiatrist for 4 years in Lincolnshire community NHS services and then moved to Peterborough NHS (CPFT) where I have been working for over 9 years and I currently work part time alongside my private home visiting business.
I am a HCPC reistered Podiatrist/Chiropodist which means I am state registered and therefore can use these professional titles, a list of healthcare professionals can be found on www.hcpc.org. This is different from a foot care professional who have completed a shorter course and likely not have indemnity insurance. I believe it is important that all foot complications and treatments should be managed by a Podiatrist/Chiropodist as just like in Dentistry, you would see a dentist and not a dental assistant.
Many of my patients I manage can have problems with corns / callus and regular nail care. They also may have problems with ingrowing toe nails, verrucaes or fissuring (heel cracks) of the heels. They may need help also with managing heel pain, fungal infections or bunions. With my experience as an NHS MSK specialist Podiatrist and experience in Diabetic and paediatric footcare I am able to help manage a range of conditions and for patients that can have high risk medical conditions or more complex foot problems.
Please contact me by phone or email. If you are not able to contact by phone please leave me a message and I will contact you later.
Let me take care of your feet for life!
Most common treatments
Thickened nails can result from circulatory changes or often trauma to the where the nail grows from (the nail matrix), often these can be confused with fungal nails and these can be thinned. Ingrowing toe nails are when the nail grows into the skin, this can be caused by involuted or wide nail shape, pressure from adjacent toes or excessive toe clawing.
The most common MSK (musculoskeletal) based injury in the foot, I have many years experience managing this in the NHS and help you to manage this condition and can refer on for specialist treatment if needed
Callus occurs from prolonged pressure to areas of the feet where normal skin exfoliation has been disrupted, Corns are more specfic high pressure compressing the skin into an amalgamation of dense fibrin cells that will then remain and can cause more pain.
Verrucae Pedis is a localised skin viral infection where there needs to be an immune response elicited against the virus and a stronger treatment such as liquid Nitrogen application or high percentage salicylic acid treatment can help to speed up resolution before they spread.
